ART PODCASTS
I admit I don't often listen to podcasts as I find talking too distracting although sometimes I have YouTube videos going on in the background while I work. A lot of times I don't listen to anything if the studio is quiet. But there are good podcasts that can help you with your career as well as just darn interesting about the whole art business. I'm saying now I will take advantage of these more.
ART FRAUD
This podcast is just one season. It is hosted by Alec Baldwin with the investigative reporter for Vanity Fair VANITY FAIR reporter Michael Shnayerson who investigated one of the biggest cases of art fraud in US history: The Knoedler Gallery (who also duped Baldwin but he was small-fry compared to other collectors).
THE JEALOUS CURATOR
This is hosted by Canadian Danielle Krysa, a contemporary artist who has also written a number of books (see my art reviews) and gives talks and interviews other artists. It looks like this podcast may have ended in 2023.
TALK ART
Russell Tovey, actor and collector, and Robert Diament, a gallerist host this podcast talking about the art world with interviews with leading artists, curators & gallerists and sometimes actor, journalist, musician friends. There is a bit of the rarefied, hoity-toity art world stuff but it is kept very real. Tovey started collecting with no background in the art world as he was starting his acting career.
THE GREAT WOMEN ARTISTS
Katy Hessel, is an art historian and curator who hosts this podcast and who has also written an excellent book on the subject. She interviews artists, curators, writers, or general art lovers, asking them which female artist means the most to them.
