What do you get at an hourly rate?

You get more than an hour's work.

I will be taking photos for an hour but behind the scenes before and after the appointment I am also working. There is always the administration side of the business, prepping my equipment, and setups (and breakdowns of a setup). After you've seen me taking photos I won't bore you with watching me edit all the photos (this refers to both going through possibly hundreds of photos to see which are best to present to you and doing a basic edit with more editing upon your selection of the images). The images will be uploaded to Dropbox for your selection process. Then there is some more work and the project will be complete in a timely manner. So an hourly rate isn't exactly an hour because it encompasses all of this but the standard is to quote an hourly (or half-day or day rate) so everyone knows the end price.

I'll be happy to discuss your project or budget with you to see what works best.
