I still love getting in a car and taking off. One of my favourite places to drive to is Prince Edward County. We have all of the rituals now of packing some things for a picnic and picking up more in Brighton, driving the back road from Newcastle along the lake, stopping to look at the field that is lined with glads and hollyhocks, finding a spot for said picnic (see field shot) and visiting wineries including some new ones like Traynor, Broken Stone and Trail Estate winery.
We've had a great summer enjoying what the city and surrounding areas have to offer. From free concerts (another fantastic Great Lake Swimmers night), dancing, the markets and the boys of summer (Go Blue Jays Go) you are never short of somewhere to go to on the weekend or during the week. And just a little over 2 hours away we have Prince Edward County (always a favourite destination). And so many of these places are great for backdrops for photos! #Toronto #summer #2016 #con
Summers are definitely made for exploring your area. On Saturday we just looked at a map and got in the car after mentally sticking a pin in that digital map. We ended up in Sunderland for a look around, Lindsay to eat a packed lunch and to visit the market and Port Perry for a brewery visit and some ice cream. Pretty good drive! #sunderland #lindsay #portperry #lakesimcoe #ontario #discoveron #driving #roadtrip #summer #market #brewery
So it has been a while since we've been to Hamilton. And I missed out on a trip there last summer because we had tickets to the Hip concert. So on a brisk Saturday this past weekend we went for a drive. On the list of things to do and see were the Farmers' market (wonderful especially the biscuit ladies and the Portuguese stall), breweries, James Street North and Dundurn Castle. We are holding back for warmer weather to make a return visit for the Royal Botanical Gardens alth
