I forget how lucky I am to live so close to the beach. I have gone down there twice this week in the evening just to sit (and maybe froyo was involved too). I brought a book the first time but didn't read it. It was nice just to stare at the water and watch people along the boardwalk. Last night I brought my camera (I should have done that the first night as there was better light that evening). Okay, and froyo was had then too. #toronto #beach #beaches #boardwalk #sand #lake
I still love getting in a car and taking off. One of my favourite places to drive to is Prince Edward County. We have all of the rituals now of packing some things for a picnic and picking up more in Brighton, driving the back road from Newcastle along the lake, stopping to look at the field that is lined with glads and hollyhocks, finding a spot for said picnic (see field shot) and visiting wineries including some new ones like Traynor, Broken Stone and Trail Estate winery.
I am always inspired by Toronto. Over the last few months I have been focussing more and more on seeing the city as a visitor might see it. Here are some recent pics over the last few months. There have been excursions to a foggy beach in April, trips to Kensington Market, a visit to Liberty Village and a look downtown and the newly improved Union Station. A wonderful Spring and Summer! #beaches #toronto #lifeguard #stand #fog #sand #sky #kensington #market #shop #shopfront #
Again, it's been awhile. There has been a lot of house-related jobs to do and also a lot of enjoying our new city. This weekend there was so much going on. We took in the Midsummer's Dream festival in Gage Park. Very colourful! Then it was off to Dundas for the Cactus Festival. We rounded off the day at Merit Brewery and the sidewalk sale along James St North. #breweries #hamilton #gagepark #meritbrewery #jamesstreetnorth #colour #colourful #summer #weekend #festival
We were so honoured to be asked to this wedding. This past weekend we were at Langdon Hall in Cambridge to celebrate. The setting, staff and food were all wonderful. We definitely have to go back to Langdon at some point (the spa looked enticing) and also check out Cambridge itself. It is only about an hour and a half from Toronto. #wedding #langdonhall #cambridge #ontario #discoverON #flowers #summer
We've had a great summer enjoying what the city and surrounding areas have to offer. From free concerts (another fantastic Great Lake Swimmers night), dancing, the markets and the boys of summer (Go Blue Jays Go) you are never short of somewhere to go to on the weekend or during the week. And just a little over 2 hours away we have Prince Edward County (always a favourite destination). And so many of these places are great for backdrops for photos! #Toronto #summer #2016 #con
Summers are definitely made for exploring your area. On Saturday we just looked at a map and got in the car after mentally sticking a pin in that digital map. We ended up in Sunderland for a look around, Lindsay to eat a packed lunch and to visit the market and Port Perry for a brewery visit and some ice cream. Pretty good drive! #sunderland #lindsay #portperry #lakesimcoe #ontario #discoveron #driving #roadtrip #summer #market #brewery
Harbourfront is just made for summer evenings. I was lucky enough to be asked on Mariposa cruises boat for their season launch. It had been a stormy afternoon but cleared in time for a lovely evening. It is really perfect being down on Lake Ontario. The light of an evening just shines off the buildings down there. #skyscraper #condos #toronto #harbourfront #lakeontario #lake #ontario #mariposacruises #summer #evening #lakefront #light #sunlight
