Washington DC

What an amazing first time trip to Washington DC! We couldn't have asked for better weather. The city was basking in the sun and blooms were everywhere (except disappointingly cherry blossoms at the Tidal Basin). The Omni Shoreham Hotel couldn't have been better. We even had a view of the Washington monument although I am sure many places in the city have a view as it seems to pop out everywhere.

There was also time to stroll around Georgetown and Alexandria, Virginia. Both have lovely, quaint houses, brick sidewalks and cute shops. I was especially impressed by the Torpedo Factory Art Centre. What a beautiful space with fantastic light. I would particularly like one of the studios overlooking the water.
